MEL KRIEGER VISITS THE LOWER FORTY
"It was awesome," was the way one student described the recent visit of Mel Krieger to The Lower Forty. A jammed packed house was treated to a two hour lecture on the essence of flycasting by one of the world’s leading authorities on the subject. Master Krieger went into elaborate detail describing the mechanics, form, and power application necessary to produce a flawless casting stroke. His interpretation of the roll cast, basic straight line cast, double haul and Belgian cast portrayed his absolute commitment to excellence in these disciplines. Ernie Schwiebert, author and international flyfisher once commented, "Nobody else in the game - and I mean nobody - has ever come close to Krieger’s accomplishments as a casting teacher." Nuff said.

It's hard to believe we are entering our 20th year of offering Lower Forty flyfishing, flytying, and casting clinics. Over this period our instructors have taught over 1,800 students the finer points of the sport. As always, this year's roster of events is highlighted by the Lower Forty "Schoolie School", an introduction to inshore flyfishing.
