THE LOWER FORTY 2010 SCHEDULE

Over the years The Lower Forty has hosted some of the world's most distinguished fly fishing instructors and personalities. Among the most noted include: Gary Borger, Eric Leiser, Steve Rajeff, Lou Tabory, Ron Alcott and the late great Mel Krieger, just to mention a few. Our 2010 program schedule will focus on the numerous regional opportunities available to the fly angler. Should your interest be in learning more about our New England freshwater fisheries make it a point to attend Kevin Tracewski's "Maine's Native Brook Trout: Where, When and Why" on Saturday, March 20th and the Harrison Anglers presentation entitled "Secrets of the Millers and the Deerfield" on March 27th. Both seminars had long waiting lists last year and this year we would expect more of the same.

These seminars will compliment our popular Novice Flytying (Session I and II) and Fly Casting 101 clinic that are geared to educating novice anglers to these disciplines.

FLYCASTING 101 with FFF Master Instructor Stan Fudula
Date: Sat, Apr 24, 2010
Time: Noon-3 PM
Cost: $30.00
Note: 1 hr classroom / 2 hrs on site

Without question the most misunderstood discipline in the entire realm of fly angling is casting. This program was designed to introduce the aspiring fly fisherman to the correct methods of properly presenting a fly. During the class FFF Master Fly Casting Instructor Stan Fudula, will expose you to the straight-line cast, the roll cast and the single and double haul. With this foundation and a bit of practice, you will be well on your way to a successful angling career. While we would prefer that students provide their own rods, outfits will be available upon request. We will accept 10 novice to intermediate level students for this program.

It's hard to believe we are entering our 22nd year of offering Lower Forty flyfishing, flytying, and casting clinics. Over this period our instructors have taught over 1,900 students the finer points of the sport. As always, this year's roster of events is highlighted by the Lower Forty "Schoolie School", an introduction to inshore flyfishing. If you have any interest in attending one of the various seminars please inquire by phone or email.
