Obviously driven by the fashion industry (hair extensions) and the obsession with providing a high quality, exceptionally long feather with a slim profile, Whiting Farms saddles became the most sought after natural fly tying material in history. In our 25 years of business we have never witnessed such demand for a fly tying product as we routinely fielded between 15-20 calls a week with fashion industry inquiries. The increase in demand created industry shortages and increased prices at the peril of the fly tier. Due to these circumstances we would expect to experience undue shortages of saddles at least in the immediate future as Whiting Farms scrambles to amp up production.

A recent addition to the Triangle Taper family, floating Ambush lines have been the most successful introduction of a product in the history of the company. This line is a west coast influenced design for single-hand casting, single spey, Skagit, scandi, switch, and double Spey. Originally designed for roll casting in close quarters, the short 20’-29’ heads are ideal for quick loading eliminating the need for repetitive false casting. All Ambush lines include Royal Wulff’s J3 coating and welded loop.
